If you’re looking to progress your skills on white water in either a kayak or OC1, the 3 Star White Water develops your ability to skilfully control your craft through the blending of your body, boat and blade on moving waters. You can take the award as either a 3 Star White Water Kayak or 3 Star White Water OC1.

The British Canoeing 3 star White Water Kayak award is designed to test and consolidate the skills required for paddling in moving waters (grade 2 rivers) in a kayak. It will enable the participant to confidently paddle as part of a group being able to perform the appropriate maneuvers and techniques required for these waters, and to be assured of their rescue abilities in this environment.

Rock the Boat Activities offers the one day assessment for this award. We recommend participants take part in training before the assessment day, we offer a two day training course or a one day refresher.
