Rock the Boat Activities offers bespoke Duke of Edinburgh Award expedition programs, specialising in paddlesports and hiking. With our love for the outdoors and paddling we don’t see why people should pay more for a paddling expedition, thats why at Rock The Boat Activities our prices are the same for hiking as paddling.

As an Approved Activity Provider we endeavour to deliver the best quality training and experience to support and guide the participants through the expedition module and achieve their aims.

Our experienced staff will be on hand to make sure the participants get the advice and guidance required for this challenging and rewarding part of the Award.

The Duke of Edinburgh Award has been running for the past seven decades and aims to help young people learn through new experiences and evolve into young adults, teaching them important life skills.

We work with schools and youth organisations, but also offer programs for individuals looking to take part in open expeditions. If interested please contact us on the form below or email

Walking Expeditions

Our walking expeditions at Rock The Boat Activities can be done all over the UK, and overseas. Some areas we cover are; Surrey Hills, South Downs, Ashdown Forest, New forest, Exmoor, Dartmoor, Brecon Beacons, Snowdonia, The Lake District, and the Peak District to name a few. Be it a Bronze, Silver or Gold expedition you can trust that the participants will have a great expedition with our fantastic qualified staff.

Paddling Expeditions

At Rock The Boat Activities we are all keen paddlers and love when groups want to try canoeing, kayaking or stand up paddle boarding which are all a little bit different to our hiking expeditions. We supply all of the kit and train everyone in their chosen mode of travel at no extra charge to our hiking expeditions. Typically we paddle on The River Thames, The Medway, The Severn, The Wye, The Dart, The Avon, The River Lea, Grand Union Canal and many more in the UK.
