Rock The Boat News September 2021

What’s coming up in September

As the summer starts drawing to an end and Autumn starts creeping round the corner, we’d like to thank everyone that’s helped make our summer so amazing. I’m sure at this point you’re all probably wondering what’s next on the RTBA calendar.

Well September brings us a variety of different adventures, to start things off we have numerous British Canoeing courses being delivered across the country. Here are a few to wet your appetite Foundation safety & rescue training, Paddlesport instructor, Shelter water coach assessment. We also have Dan out delivering National provider orientations which is super exciting to see a new wave of providers stepping on to the scene.

Also we have a River skills weekend trip taking place down in Devon on the 18th & 19th September, along with some more local 1:1 private coaching sessions.

Lastly we have our first Bronze Duke of Edinburgh training weekend, this is the new intake for the new 2021-22 season. Which takes us out in the Surrey hills, we are gearing up for a fun weekend.

We look forward to seeing you out on the Hillside or the Rivers, from all the team at RTBA

The last few months…

Since March and the easing of lockdown lifting, we’ve been very busy! Here’s a little blog to tell you about some of the exciting things that we’ve been up to.

May and June saw us delve into the depths of our D of E season with trips all over the UK. Working with many schools we managed to get out on expeditions all over the Surrey Hills, Oxfordshire and stretching as far as Wales. Sarah and Alex have helped a number of schools and individuals complete their Bronze, Silver and Gold D of E expeditions and catch up on missed expeditions from the last year. It’s been great fun seeing everyone get out in the outdoors and we’ve loved being part of their D of E journeys.

Duke of Edimburg

We’ve not just only been completing D of E expeditions, but Dan has also been busy delivering a number of British Canoeing courses, where he has helped participants develop their personal paddling skills as well as their qualifications. Dan thoroughly enjoys helping people progress into the world of paddling, gaining more qualifications to help them in their lines of work.

Alongside all of this Rob has been focusing his efforts on coaching many 1:1 clients. Really progressing their skills in the environments that suit their needs. His clients regularly rebook with him and really enjoy their sessions. Lets not forget about all of our team building days, working with schools up at Lee Valley White Water Center and all the way down to Guildford and inbetween.

If any of these activities sound like something you would like to do, have a look at our website, get in touch and we’d be happy to help.
