Sandstone Classic Climbs

Who is it for?

Being based in the South East of England can mean that we spend a lot of our time climbing at indoor gyms, which is perfect for training, but what are we really training for?

To get outside of course!

We are lucky enough to have some of the best Sandstone crags in the UK just around the corner. We have Harrisons Rocks, Stone Farm and High Rocks, to name just a few, all in Surrey and Sussex. Our aim is to give everyone the opportunity to experience our incredible local crags safely and to grow the outdoor climbing community.

What this course is all about

  • This course will be bespokely designed around your ability level and climbing experience.
  • Specific crags and routes can be identified and used to tailor our session plans around your development.
  • We will use our knowledge and experience to guide you through some of the most renowned sandstone climbs in the South East.
  • We can work closely and coach your climbing skills and techniques.

What you need to bring

  • A sensible pair of closed toe trainers, which need to be firmly attached to your feet, either by laces or velcro. If you have your own climbing shoes that would be ideal
  • Something to drink
  • Packed lunch/snacks – it’s hungry work!
  • Weather appropriate clothes:
      1. If it’s sunny, please bring sun cream as we will be outside all day. Also bring a top that covers your shoulders
      2. If it’s cold, please bring warm layers and a waterproof jacket as we will be exposed to the weather for the day

We will be providing all climbing equipment/PPE including; harnesses, helmets, ropes, belay devices, anchors etc., so you do not need to any specialist equipment.

If you have your own equipment please feel free to bring it with you. All personal equipment will be inspected by our instructors prior to the course and we reserve the right to refuse it’s use if we deem it to be unsafe/not fit for purpose.

Minimum age is 8 – If there is a member of your group who is under this age, please send us a message via our enquiry page as we may be able to make exceptions.

This can either be a 1 or 2 day course. We can travel to various different crags depending on what you’re looking for.

Devon Classic Climbs

Who is it for?

Climbers have become a little bit of an indoor breed in recent years and our goal is to bring us back outside to enjoy some great rock faces in the South West.

There are incredible climbing crags located all across Devon so whether we’re down on the South coast, in the middle of Dartmoor or based on the North coast, we’ll never be short of great routes.

What this course is all about

  • We will cover all the essential skills required to keep you safe as you progress with your climbing
  • This course will be bespokely designed around your ability level and climbing experience.
  • Specific crags and routes can be identified and used to tailor our session plans around your development.
  • We will use our knowledge and experience to guide you through some interesting climbs that will challenge your skills and endurance.
  • We can work closely and coach your climbing skills and techniques.

What you need to bring

  • A sensible pair of closed toe trainers, which need to be firmly attached to your feet, either by laces or velcro. If you have your own climbing shoes that would be ideal

This course is perfect for anyone looking to increase their outdoor climbing confidence, tweak their technique and experience some more remote crags.

Climbers have become a little bit of an indoor breed in recent years and our goal is to bring us back outside to enjoy some great rock faces in North Wales.

There are incredible climbing spots scattered across Snowdonia and the surrounding mountainous areas which we want to help you explore!

  • Specific crags and routes can be identified and used to tailor our session plans around your development.

There are incredible climbing spots scattered across the Peaks which we want to help you explore and conquer!

What this course is all about

  • We will cover all the essential skills required to keep you safe as you progress with your climbing
  • This course will be bespokely designed around your ability level and climbing experience.
  • Specific crags and routes can be identified and used to tailor our session plans around your development.
  • We will use our knowledge and experience to guide you through some climbs that will challenge you.
  • We can work closely and coach your climbing skills and techniques.
  • We can look at Bouldering, Top Rope climbing or a mixture of the two as the Peaks have a plethora of options for us to play with.

What you need to bring

  • A sensible pair of closed toe trainers, which need to be firmly attached to your feet, either by laces or velcro. If you have your own climbing shoes that would be ideal
  • Something to drink
  • Packed lunch/snacks – it’s hungry work!
  • Weather appropriate clothes:

Outdoor Group Climbing Session

Who Is It For?

This day is for ANYONE & EVERYONE, whether you’re a group of friends looking for a new experience, a youth group seeking adventure or corporate group looking for an active team building activity.

Whether it’s your first time climbing or your thousandth this will be a fun day out on the rocks, learning some new techniques or developing on your existing skills.

The Plan

Let’s go Climbing!!

We’ll assemble at the closest meeting point to the crag, introductions will be made, we’ll kit up and head over to the rocks.

After a quick warm up and some icebreaker games we’ll start climbing, after all that’s what we’re here for isn’t it.

This is aimed to be a fun and enjoyable experience so depending on what the group wants to do we can either play a lot of climbing games, focus more on climbing or a mixture of the two! totally up to you.

Our staff are all highly qualified and skilled climbers so they will help everyone progress through each session.

Outdoor Private Climbing Session

Who is it for?

You can book this as an individual or for a group. It will be a private course for you only!

The difference between the Group Session and this Private Session is that it’s only open to the people you book for. We can customise the experience to your individual needs, creating a bespoke package just for you.

This course can be designed for anyone. You could be an individual looking for personal coaching, group of friends looking for a new experience, a youth group seeking adventure or corporate group looking for an active team building activity.

Discover Outdoor Rock

Who is it for?

If you’ve ever wanted to try a new sport that’ll test you physically, mentally and vertically then why not try your hand at Rock Climbing.

The Discover Outdoor Rock program will show you what the interesting world of Rock Climbing has to offer, you don’t need any prior experience to sign up to this course. Our experienced instructors will introduce you to all the equipment with a simplistic approach and will get you climbing your way to the top of your first wall.

We can run this session for you as an individual, a private group or you can join one of our open group sessions.

Outdoor Bouldering Workshop

Who Is It For?

This session is for people looking to bring the skills that they’ve been practicing indoors and apply them to a natural rock environment. Bouldering can take you to some stunning locations all around the UK and abroad.

We suggest that to get the most out of this course, you are climbing at around a 6a+/6b or V3/4. If you are not at that level yet we also run indoor bouldering coaching sessions where we can improve your strength and skills before heading out to the harder stuff.

The Plan

These sessions are designed to hone your climbing skills, introduce you to new techniques and build strength. Our coaches will be be able to identify the right problems for you and will work alongside you to solve them.

We will help you build the skills and knowledge required for you to go out and climb confidently by yourself.

Climbing outdoors can seem a little daunting, we’re here to show you that it shouldn’t be! We’ll be sure to put an emphasis on the safety and risk management aspects of outdoor climbing to make your time outdoor as stress free as possible.

Location

We are based in the South East and there are some great Sandstone bouldering spots in Surrey and Sussex that we can all get to quickly and easily.

We can also travel anywhere in the UK to  find good weather, great views and epic climbs. There are great bouldering spots in the Peak District, Snowdonia and Dartmoor just to name a few. Get in touch via our enquiries page to let us know where you want to go and we’ll make it happen.

  • Climbing shoes if you have them are ideal (if you don’t have climbing specific shoes then a closed toe trainer is another option)
