Description
The Paddlesport Instructor Award equips you to lead paddlesport activities confidently. Learn to prepare groups, engage them with fun activities, and ensure safety. Connect with fellow enthusiasts and access valuable resources for ongoing learning.
For qualified coaches, this training can form part of your continuous professional development and has a value of 20 CPD points.
COURSE CONTENT:
- BCAB qualifications are internationally recognized and regulated by Ofqual for high standards and validity.
- The course focuses on running games and activities to support learning and inspire adventure for new paddlers in stable craft.
- Skills taught during the course include:
- Kitting up a group and getting afloat.
- Activities and games for learning support.
- Using mini journeys to promote environmental exploration.
- Group safety measures.
- Participants must be able to paddle a canoe, kayak, or stand-up paddleboard independently on flat water and ensure safety for themselves and others.
- Recommended prerequisites include completing the Paddle Explore Award or around 70 hours of personal paddling experience.
- The typical duration of the Paddlesport Instructor course is 2 days.
