If you are looking at coaching canoe and kayak in a sheltered water environment, this two-day training focuses on how to coach the technical and tactical skills for sheltered water kayakers and canoeists. This practical based course will help you plan and deliver safe, enjoyable, progressive coaching sessions and you’ll explore the specifics to help you coach some typical learners relevant to you and the sheltered water environment.

This Discipline Specific Training is a mostly practical two-day course. The training is designed for those working towards a Coach Award and is also suitable as stand-alone training.

As a Coach you can work independently or you could be deployed by a club, centre or organisation. Being a Canoe and Kayak Coach allows you to design coaching to support your learners. You will be able to provide British Canoeing Awards and Training such as:

• Personal Performance Awards – for example the Start Award, Discover Award, Explore Award
• Safety Training – for example the Foundation Safety and Rescue Course
• Coach Development – Coaches can be involved in the providing the Paddlesport Instructor Award
